The patient is 45 years old. The general state of health is without peculiarities. From the patient’s words, such a situation in the oral cavity has come over the past few years. The last tooth extraction was about 9 months ago. Of course, poor aesthetics and difficulty chewing food are the main complaints of the patient.
According to the patient’s wish, the task was to quickly socialize in the dental aspect and restore the chewing function. Taking into account the volume of bone tissue and the desired term of rehabilitation, the “All-on-4” method was proposed.
All surgical treatment was performed in 1 stage under sedation: after the installation of implants, the dental casts were made, and dentures were fixed a week later.
Dentures fixed one week after surgery are temporary.
In most cases, in the classic version of the olonfo technique, the dental casts are taken a week or two before the surgery. The technician makes a surgical template that the surgeon uses to install the implants. A temporary denture is already in the clinic before the surgery.
The patient will use a temporary denture for six months until the implants are integrated. After 6 months, the temporary denture will be replaced with a permanent one made of cermet or metal composite. The permanent denture will take into account all the patients ' wishes for aesthetics and function.
In the future, periodic visits to the hygienist and preventive examinations to the orthopedist are needed. By this method, the patient gets full dental rehabilitation on the day of surgery.
And even more importantly, the entire surgical stage is performed under sedation, in a dream. The patient fell asleep without teeth and woke up with new teeth!
