Dr. Pilar grew up in Jersey City, NJ and graduated high school at the age of 17 as valedictorian of her class. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Engineering at NJIT on a four year full scholarship. Dr. Pilar continued onward to obtain her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the oldest dental school in the United States, New York University’s College of Dentistry.
After NYU, Dr. Pilar completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) which provided extensive advanced training in multiple fields. Upon completion of the program, Dr. Pilar was immediately asked to return as a clinical instructor to train incoming resident doctors in all facets of dentistry. Dr. Pilar finds this to be such a rewarding experience that she devotes Friday's to teaching at the hospital based program.
On a more personal note, Dr. Pilar is happily married to her high school sweetheart, Maulin and they have two beautiful daughters, Sarina and Leia.
